M (O CUALIDADES Y VARIANTES DE LA MASA)

Mass (m), as the result of the sum of individualities striving for the utopia of presenting themselves as a homogeneous multitude, served as the trigger for this work created especially for the IUNA Dance Company.
In m, the dancers’ bodies take on a dual character, also becoming the generators of the only sound in the piece.
What initially appears to be a rhythmic game gradually takes on meaning as the work unfolds, when this uniformed and disciplined group leads us to reflect on the irony of a subordinated collective that ultimately becomes a mass that rebels.

Created for the IUNA Company and premiered on December 3, 2010 at El Portón de Sánchez.
It participated in the 2011 Ciudanza Festival in Buenos Aires, with performances at the Parque de la Memoria.
