FUZZY MAP

FUZZY MAP (2005) This work draws on the aesthetics of the body-as-information, highlighting the power of new technologies as regulators of destinies and manipulators of perception.

A subject moves through an urban labyrinth until he withdraws into a single point in space. Immobility emerges as a way out, but it is not enough: even more can be demanded of him—to shed what remains of his material existence, to become digital, to become information.

The work was presented at the 2006 Biennale de la Danse de Lyon, the 4th Buenos Aires Contemporary Dance Festival, the ADF (American Dance Festival), the 6th FIBA, and the 28th Lila López International Contemporary Dance Festival in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. In November 2008, it participated in the Brazilian circuit of international dance festivals, including the Recife Dance Festival in Pernambuco, the Ceará Dance Biennial, FID – Fórum Internacional de Dança de Minas Gerais, and the Panorama Dance Festival in Rio de Janeiro. It also received the Macstation Special Jury Prize at the 2007 Paradigma Digital competition.
